Generations Journal of the American Society on Aging: Navigating HIV Challenges in Aging: A Call for Inclusive Policies
While great progress has been made in HIV treatment and care, more needs to be done to support the growing population of older people living with HIV. This journal article explores policies to support those aging with HIV at all levels of the U.S. government. Recommendations include expanding the CDC's HIV testing guidelines to cover those over the age of 64, updates to the federal Older American Act, and local legislation like the LGBTQ+ and HIV Long Term Care Bill of Rights. [May 2024]
